13.06.2016 : BRZ hosted Cloud for Europe general meeting
The BRZ is project partner of Cloud for Europe, one of the most important European cloud initiatives. The ongoing EU project supports public sector cloud use as collaboration between public authorities and industry.
The Cloud for Europe general meeting took place in the BRZ. 20 participants from eleven European countries discussed further important steps - The main theme was Pre-commercial Procurement (PCP).
Building trust in European Cloud Computing across national borders is the aim of Cloud for Europe. Different application scenarios of cloud-solutions should show potential possibilities. The project uses pre-commercial procurement as an instrument for public sector innovation. The pre-commercial procurement identifies innovative solutions for cloud services that best fit public sector needs, but also provides better information to public procurers about the potential of cloud services.
The EU-project “Cloud for Europe” started in June 2013 and runs until 2017. It is co-funded by the European Commission under the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FP7). The BRZ provides its technical know-how in all phases of the tender.
