The Ministry of Finance and the Chancellery commissioned Austria’s Federal Computing Centre (BRZ) to develop data.gv.at - an online catalogue for administrative data. The clients relied on the BRZ’s extensive administrative knowledge and in-depth ICT know-how.
Data.gv.at has become a nationwide open data platform and the technology was developed by the Federal Computing Centre. The platform enables the citizens, as well as the economy to gain access to digital records over the internet. The Open Government Data’s (OGD) aim is to publish the public administrations anonymous data in a national and international format standard. The subject matter of the data ranges from the environment, to research and health policies. The data is processed and prepared in a format that is machine readable and thus, can be automatically processed as large as possible.
